What must I do
What do I have to DO to go to heaven?
WELL, NOT ANY OF THESE!!
WELL, NOT ANY OF THESE!!
CONFESS YOUR SINS:
You do NOT have to confess your sins but rather acknowledge that you are a sinner and need a saviour. You sin because you are a sinner, not the other way around. You do not need to tell God about your sins, He already knows and Jesus already died for them. It's not about your condition, it’s about your position.
ASK FOR FORGIVENESS:
When you believe that Jesus the Christ died for you and trust that He took the penalty for your sins, you HAVE the forgiveness that Jesus secured for you 2000 years ago, you do not need to ask for it, it is a gift already given.
(Romans 5:8)
TURN FROM SIN:
Try it! I can’t. You can't. Often confused with repentance which is simply to change your mind.
CHANGE YOUR LIFE:
He will change your life. This change is a RESULT not a REQUIREMENT.
GET BAPTISED:
The ONE Baptism of Ephesians 4:5 is done by the Holy Spirit automatically when you believe and places you into the Body of Christ. Water baptism is not required.
DO GOOD WORKS:
The only thing you contribute to your salvation is the sin that made it necessary.
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS:
Jesus does not want your life, The deal is, He gives you HIS.
Neither do they validate nor maintain your salvation.
It's a one-way street from God to you; He does not want anything from you, except to believe what Jesus has done.

SO, WHAT IS REQUIRED OF ME?
A prison keeper asked that exact question... "What must I do to be saved?"
The answer? "Believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 16:25~34)
This answer was given by Paul, the Apostle appointed by Jesus after His resurrection, to take the gospel to the Gentiles
(non Jews, like you and me). He put it in a nutshell when he said...
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
These are the bare FACTS of the gospel but simple belief is not enough, even Satan believes that Jesus is The Christ!! You must put your FAITH in them and TRUST that Jesus has PAID the penalty due to YOU and this is your only plea before a righteous God.
Let’s take a closer look at 1 Corinthians 15:3,4.

THAT CHRIST
You must believe: that Jesus is "The Christ,
The Son of God, God incarnate" this is important.
DIED
You must believe: that He died
FOR OUR SINS
You must believe: that He died in your place, took your penalty.
WAS BURIED
You must believe: that He was buried, 3 days & 3 nights.
Wednesday to Saturday 'according to the scriptures'
(Friday to Sunday is a denial)
THAT HE ROSE AGAIN
You must believe: in the resurrection.
ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES
You must believe: that this was no mistake, it was God's plan.

For You!
He did it for you!
He did it for you!
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die" (Ezekiel 18:20) but God in His great love for you has provided a sacrifice for your sin. God is not judging sin today, He did that nearly 2000 years ago on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:19).
Today, God wants your trust, not your righteousness!!
“All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6)
“All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6)
"But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested... even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:21~24)
"The gospel of God's grace"
(Acts 20:24)
In His MERCY God provided a substitute, Jesus. (Genesis 22:8)
In His GRACE He offers Salvation, for FREE! (Ephesians 2:8)
This Gospel says…
DONE!
It's not about what you can do for Jesus; it's about what He's done for you!
If you will read your Bible very carefully you will find that this gospel is not found in the four gospels, it is only found in Paul's letters, Romans to Philemon. The revelation of the RISEN Christ.
Hebrews 9:16 says, "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator" Therefore, the New Testament must start not as a result of Christ's birth but of His death.
Gain a better understanding of the Bible by studying it in the Biblically prescribed way. Paul instructed his young follower Timothy to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
The whole Bible is a progressive revelation of God's dealings with mankind. You cannot take later scriptures back into earlier scriptures and apply them.
God revealed more to Moses than He did to Abraham and so too He revealed more to Paul than He did to the disciples. These must be "divided" in order to understand their proper meaning.
We have traditionally looked for the similarities but this is a mistake, we should really look for the differences. If God revealed more to Moses than to Abraham, there is reason for it. Surely it would be to our benefit to see the difference between what was given to the disciples and what was later revealed to Paul too.
Jesus and the disciples asked the Jews to believe that Jesus is The Christ, right up to Acts 15.
Paul, as the apostle of the Gentiles, asks YOU to believe that you can have Justification by faith in Jesus’ Death, Burial and Resurrection (Romans 4:25). Very different.
